Privacy Notice
DRAFT for Romano Ice Cream to confirm before launch: the responsible party, contact details and retention period below are placeholders.
This notice explains how personal information is handled in Romano Arcade (“Scoop Stack” and “Freak Shake Rush”), in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
Who is responsible
Responsible party: Romano Ice Cream [legal entity name, registration number, address]. Operator (runs the games on Romano's behalf): MN Digital Services. Questions or requests: info@romanoicecream.co.za.
What we collect
- Everyone who plays: a nickname you choose, your home parlour, game scores and the taps you made (used to verify scores), and a random device ID stored on your phone. We store a one-way scrambled version of your IP address to prevent abuse.
- Only if you claim a voucher: your cellphone number and email address, and the date you gave consent.
Why we use it
- To run the game, the weekly leaderboard and weekly Musgrave vs Umhlanga battle (only your nickname, parlour and score are shown publicly).
- To issue and verify vouchers, stop duplicate claims, and contact weekly winners about prizes.
- To send you Romano specials, only if you ticked the separate marketing box. You can opt out at any time.
How long we keep it
Contact details are kept for [90 days] after the end of the campaign, then deleted. Anonymous game statistics may be kept longer.
